The city of Katy is located in the counties of Harris, Fort Bend and Waller, Texas. The population, according to 2014 estimates is 15, 600 residents. Residents of the city enjoy a cost of living lower than the state and national average. The unemployment rate is considerably lower than the state and national average due to a high employment productivity rate.

Katy enjoys a strong economy and has become attractive to corporations that have located in the area.
